Lintila said the impact of the envisaged increased cutdown offorests on the Finnish GDP would amount to seven or eight billioneuros, whereas the purchase of forest usage rights would be ten ortwenty million euros only.

However, the idea of using tax money to assure the availabilityof raw material has not been met with unanimous acceptance in thecountry.
